How To: Pallet Christmas Trees

These beautiful trees are a great focal point for a rustic themed party.
What you'll need:
• Wooden pallets
• Black paint
• Red ornaments
• Chalk
• String
• Ribbon
Acquire some old wooden pallets. Many places want to be rid of these, so you can get them free from most businesses. Check Craigslist's free section.
These ones came from the local bookshop.
Paint the pallets using a flat black indoor paint.
We used about a quart of paint for these 4 pallets
Outline your tree shape in chalk, then fill the outline with white paint.
Hold a piece of string with a tack to the top center of the board. Pull it down to the bottom corners to get your outline.
A stippling pattern gives a nice lightness to the tree
Depending on your pallet size, you may need to stack them.

You'll want to attach them to the wall so they don't fall on unsuspecting guests!

A nail and some baling wire can secure this pallet in place. Be sure to test that it won't fall!

Add a splash of color with some bright red ornaments!
A bit of fishing line tied around the slats is all it takes to keep these ornaments in place.
A tube of plastic ornaments from the dollar store can add a splash of color.
Top it off with a beautiful big red bow!
Voila! Perfect holiday tree decorations.
